     There are several organizations in the state and the entire nation which have established themselves to enlighten and advise the public on issues pertaining to our forests and environment. Below are some of those organizations.

     The Alliance for America is a non-profit, volunteer grassroots organization of conservationists dedicated to bringing human concerns into environmental decision-making. The Alliance represents over 500 diverse groups in all 50 states. We are farmers, ranchers, miners, loggers, fisherman, fur farmers, recreationists, private property activists, teachers, homemakers, nurses, and citizens. We're Main Street America making itself heard.

     The California Forestry Association is your guide to the truth about California's forests and the forestry profession. This extensive site presents the issues and challenges facing our forests.

     The non-profit California Forest Products Commission established by legislation in 1990, informs the public about California forests, educates about environmental and consumer benefits of forest management, assembles and publicizes information about science-based forestry practices, and demonstrates the industry's commitment to balancing environmental and economic concerns.

     Stewards of the Range, formed in 1991, is a powerful national advocate for property rights. It began with a group of Americans concerned with the erosion of property rights by the federal government. The organization's first project has become an important turning point in America's property rights history; the landmark Hage vs. U.S. case. Stewards of the Range have developed several distinct publications and gained respect nationwide.

     The mission of the Water Education Foundation, an impartial non-profit organization, is to create a better understanding of water issues and help resolve water resource problems through educational programs.
