Modesto Junior College

Modesto Junior College

Our education program continues to be very active. During the school year 2008-2009 we took more than 2300 students to 9 different locations. One-hundred-nine teachers and 228 adult chaperones accompanied them. We serve 12 schools in Tuolumne County, four in Calaveras County, three in Stanislaus County, including Modesto Junior College.

We made 55 classroom presentations to 1328 students. We would welcome more schools and classrooms. If you know any teachers, have children or grandchildren in school, please have the teachers contact us. Finally, we participated in Tuolumne County Farm Day, Calaveras Farm Day, and the Career Fair. We also were awarded a RAC (USDA Resource Area Committee) grant to increase our forest tours during the 2009-2010 school year.

Stacey Dodge is our RAC Grant Program Facilitator. Stacey coordinates and facilitates tours on the Stanislaus National Forest.  These tours are for adults and kids.  Please contact the TuCARE office if you or someone you know would be interested in a Forest Tour and/or a Tour for Kids tour.
